3 mi gravel Rattlesnake Route Gravel route from Rattlesnake Bridge Rd to Salyer Mad River Rd, Mad River, Humboldt County, California "Cross the Mad River and meet up with Rattlesnake Connector. Great fishing. When you finish both portions of the ride, take a left up the paved Forest Service Route 1 to the top of South Fork Mountain. Once up at the top, you can hang a left and ride on what may be the world's longest continuous ridgeline all the way to HWY 299. It's all paved, but only barely."
6 mi gravel Connecter to Rattlesnake Gravel route from US Frst Service Rd 1 to Salyer Mad River Rd, Mad River, Humboldt County, California "With a quick fording of the Mad River at the Western end of this stretch, you can then hook up with the Rattlesnake Route that starts/ends (depending on direction you are heading) just East of Dinsmore. By the way, The Mad River along this route is my favorite fishing ever. Small Trout for catch and release fun on Ultra-light gear could make for an awesome overnight riding adventure."
